New construction of visitor centre for Adam Opel AG in Rüsselsheim

The British partners of pbr, Building Design Partnership, designed the new Opel campus in Rüsselsheim for Adam Opel AG which comprises the new headquarters and a visitor centre.

The focal point of the newly designed campus grounds is the visitor centre with its new entrance forecourt. The connection between the company headquarters and the new car park with its 900 parking spaces was created in the form of pedestrian bridges. The building complex includes a conference hall seating 450, three meeting rooms, a motor car museum with shops as well as a visitor and staff restaurant with a total of 750 seats.

The visitor centre consists of three independent buildings which are connected via the foyer. The facade of the reinforced concrete skeleton construction has been clad with high-quality materials, such as wood panels, natural stone, aluminium and glass.
